Jon Wells
Business Manager and Developer
Profile
Jon Wells joined the software industry in the late 1980's,
developing 8bit software for various companies including
Cult & D+H Games, and Atlantis. As well as writing articles
for magazines such as Zzap!64, Commodore Force, Commodore
Format and PC Action, he later started his own mail order
company and released several well-received commercial titles.
In 2000 he teamed up with Andy Roberts of Thalamus Interactive Ltd
and worked exclusively on the Game Boy, producing his own music
player and audio systems within just a few weeks; this led to
further development contracts on titles such as Space Invasion,
Zidane Football Generation, and IK Advanced, for which he
handled all programming and audio responsibilities.
He has also contributed code and audio to several Game Boy
Color and Advance titles. In 2002 he started his own computer
repairs company which continues to be successful today and in
2005 teamed up with Gravity-I Ltd to work on the Game Boy Advance
again as the lead programmer and designer of 3
commercial titles; Operation, Tip It and Toss Across. During
this time he has worked on titles for the following companies:
Cryo, Datel, DSI Games, Infogrames, Metro3D, Studio 3
and more.
In 2007 he was contracted to work for
Avanquest (formerly GSP) on 4 PC Budget Retro style games and a
multiple choice quiz engine
taking care of all programming and design responsibilities.
His programming experience spans several platforms and languages
including C/C++, C# (including Xbox XNA), Z80, 6502/6510, RISC and more.
In his hobby time for fun he developes games for the classic retro home computer
the Commodore 64, for which he has recently received rave reviews in RetroGamer
and Micromart.
